Monday 19th Nov
Lisa's 3rd Bungee Jump time! She didn't sleep very well as she was really nervous about the jump. Daniel couldn't come along as the bus was full so luckily Lisa had someone she know, who was also doing the jump for the support. Instead for Daniel, he did bit of food shopping and updating the diary to keep him occupied.
It was 30mins drive away before we reached to the location. The group of us were freaking out after looking at the height of the bungee jump. Its 134m jump. Lisa had to wait for a long time for her turn, at least 1hr 30mins and that was without a hearing aid too. While she was on the platform, watching others doing it. The longer she waited, the more she got scared and nervous.
When it finally came to her turn, she was checked for safety etc and was moved to the edge. She realised she couldn't do it cos of being on the platform for so long without having a hearing aid. She felt isolated and unsafe. She couldn't bring herself to do it in the end. She learnt that with other 2 bungee jumps, she was able to do it cos she was without her hearing aid for at least 5 to 10mins and could see the people for support before jumping off. With Nevis jump, it was too open and noone to look at. She also panickied cos she couldn't see the staff for instructions.
Lisa was so gutted that she couldn't jump but in the end, she managed to get 2 out of 3 jumps which is better than nothing! When she returned back to the hostel, she broke down in tears due to her dissapointment while Daniel comforted her.
She was worn out so she had a quick nap while Daniel tidied up in the room. Our group have booked to go to do bit of 10 pin bowling. We left for 8pm and it was a good night. Lisa won both games! Tomorrow, we got Shotover Jet and Canyon swing to look forward to. Daniel was secretly pleased that he is finally getting to do the activities. Lisa was little worried about Canyon Swing after the incident at the Nevis Bungy.
