Saturday 17th Nov

Moving onto Wanaka, but first we stopped by to catch the mirror reflection of Mt Cook and the Southern Alps on Lake Matheson, near the town of Fox Glacier. It was beautiful as you can see in the photos. We also had a "breakfast" stop at the cafe nearby.

Unfortunately there was a delay of moving on cos one couple disappeared and we had to wait for a long time while the driver, Mar looked for them! Apparently they just went off for a walk, thinking that there was plenty of time to do that!

We visited the Bay to see the view of Tasman Sea for the scenic views or should we say a toliet stop? Then it was hop on again to move on to another region.

We then stopped at Haast for lunch supplies as well to have a break which most people just sunbathed! Unfortunately for all of us, there was only a village shop which was so expensive and limited which we had to pay cos there wouldn't be any other shops that we could go to if we wanted to cook our tea tonight.

Finally arrived to Wanaka and our hostel room was lovely! It was just like a hotel. It came with a tv too as well as balcony. We shrieked when we saw the bath and we certainly used it!! We were pleased to have a bath again instead of having a shower! We decided to do cooking as soon as we checked in as we noticed the kitchen was small. We were the first one to use it! We had a lovely meal which was like english breakfast!!

Afterwards, we decided to go for a walk to visit the Lake (it was like a beach style!) but it was very cold so it was a very short walk around the town before resorting back to the hostel to have a bath that we have been looking forward to! And best of all, Lisa was happy to have her hair straightened again after borrowing from someone in our Kiwi Ex Group.
