We arrived at Sydney by 6.15am, which was early than expected by 30mins. We were feeling tired. Lisa's eyes were so dry and she was so keen to get it out but first we had to find the local bus to take us to Collaroy. We followed the directions that we found on the website and managed to find the bus stop. Unfortunately for us, we missed the bus by 5mins so We had to wait for about 30mins for the next one which wasn't too bad!
The journey was about 1hr 15mins away, and we were hoping that we can still get to Sydney for the new year celebrations! We just hope that there will be bus services running on the day!

We found our hostel immediately as it was only 1 min walk away from the bus stop! We were also pleased to see that the beach was on the hostel's doorstep! Unfortunately for us, we can't check in to recover from no sleep journey till 2pm so we left our luggages in the storage room and grabbed our swimwear to sunbathe on the beach while catching few winks! It was very hot at 9am! At least it was better for the weather conditions, comparing to what we had in St Kilda!

We just relaxed on the beach till 1pm and decided to return back to the hostel to see if we could check in early which was possible. We were pleased as we wanted to collaspe onto the double bed that we had been looking forward to, a privacy double room that we have booked for our xmas break.

Once we got into the double room, we were dissapointed as it was so tiny! We didn't have a nice view, we were facing the wall! So we were gutted but we decided that we were pleased to have privacy again!

After sorting few things out in the room, we decided to see if its possible to book our xmas day dinner somewhere in one of the restaurants. We knew that it would be a mission but worth a try! The hostel did offer the xmas dinner but we werent too keen to celebrate our xmas day inside the hostel so we refused to have it. Unfortunately with no luck of finding the availability, well more like lack of restaurants as mainly are indian or italian!! So we decided to opt for the traditional aussie bbq.

We made our way to the supermarket and did major shopping to last over few days. It was a long walk to the supermarket as it took us about a hour to get there! Due to the big shopping, we jumped onto the bus to return back to the hostel to save us hassles! The only problem was finding a bbq to use!

We learnt that there was going to be carols by the candlelights on the beach in the evening, starting at 6.30pm. We thought to pop down if we were still feeling awake by then!

We had our dinner and we were still feeling awake so we made our way to the beach. As it was still bright, everyone were preparing for their locations on the beach such as picnic, chairs etc. We waited for a long while and we were getting tired and cold! We were desperate to have a shower as we were full of sand from the sunbathing earlier today. So we decided to leave and had showers. Though we were hoping to return back which we never did! After our showers, we decorated our room with our xmas stuff that we found in the sale in St Kilda. It made our room looking bit better and xmassy! We started to feel so tired and sleepy so we thought it was a best idea to recover and had a early night.
