Day 25 and we are heading North... hmmm something must be wrong. Nope, just going to see more lovely people we haven't seen for way too long.
Stopped at Walt and Flo Kronstal's last night in Winfield. The last time Tim and I were there together was on our honeymoon!!! (Suzon and I visited 6 years ago.) The kids loved the chickens and horses and changing irrigation pipes. We enjoyed a mini belly dance performance and evening musical interlude as well as an incredible bar-b-que. The Kronstal Pad is definitely the best RV site yet. We even gleaned fresh eggs, garden produce, and homemade preserves before we left. Two thumbs up, five stars, very highly recommended!
Headed north to Enderby, and stopped in on Peggy, Danika, Solana, and Ryan White. What a happy place! Bonus, Grandma and Grandpa were there too. Happy Birthday Solana. XO
Saw the Last Spike of the Canadian Pacific Railroad which connected east and west in 1885. This brought back many childhood memories of Pierre Burton's TV show of the same name (Tim wants it to be known that he doesn't remember as far back as me!). Climbed through the Roger's Pass (1340 metres up) and got very close to snow. But the mountains are magnificent. Stopped at the southern toe of Kinbasket Lake, just north of Golden. It's amazing to think that we will see the Columbia River, which runs through Kinbasket Lake, all the way down to Astoria, Oregon.
Had a vicious game of Monopoly (Naomi won) and are all very ready for a great night's sleep.
Rustic campground in which we barely fit. (Wi-Fi connection sucks!)

Vicki Wilson We would have crossed paths if our timing was better. Sean was racing at Kicking Horse ski hill the first weekend of Aug. We stopped at the same railway place and had lunch. The Mountains are just great in that area. It was the first time I can remember going through there. Walter was through there driving bus for Rob Lloyd's out door ed class. Joy Gunther's class was on that bus. They had a lot of fun and he still talks about how he "tortured" the kids. :)
