Arrived in Brisbane on the Greyhound, and got picked up by Ben (Jonnys bosses mate) who moved out here about 20years ago. we are staying at his house with his wife (Kylie) and 2 kids Elsey (4) and Coen (2) who are both adorable! Kylie had set up the spare bedroom for us, which has a massive queen sized bed in there, and ben picked us up fish and chips for dinner on the way home, they are such a lovely family! and we have already been throughrally spoilt!

there house is massive with about 40 acres of land, just outside Toowoomba in the counrtyside. we ate dinner and went straight to bed, this is like... if carlsberg made hostels...haha

in the morning Jonny went off to work with Ben and his 2 work guys (ben has his own tree surgeon business) and i hung out with Kylie and the kids, we went shopping for some food and they showed me round the farm. they hav a pig, sheep, deer and 2 dogs called Rooga and Bessie who are cute!!

also met bens mum Shauna who moved out here about 5 years ago, so it was nice to talk to someone about the UK for a bit, then Kylie and Ben treated me and Jonny to a pub dinner in the evening, and they wont let us pay for anything, we keep offering! i feel so awfull but they sed they want to so...? after getting home at about 8pm and wanting to go striaght to bed, it was clear that i had had one too many strongbows.. haha

The next day (sunday) Ben and Jonny disappeared off to see some deer or something, so i went with Kylie and the kids to see Kylies mum, we left the kids there with her for a bit and went to do some shopping as i needed to get some sunglasses after sitting on mine, oops! but i got a good cheap pair in the end after about 10 shops!

came back to the house and ben asked if i wanted to "play" on the excavator (ie. massive digger) i must admit i was slightly concerned about the word "play" being in this sentence but i just couldnt say no! lol it was wicked, ben showed me all the controls and then left me to it! i dug a massive hole, which is apparently going to be a fire pit, i was pretty convinced if i dug a little further i could hav got home haha.

bens mum came over again and so did his siter Jenny- who was hilarious!, we shared our horror stories of snakes and spiders and our encounters lol and we all had a massive roast dinner cooked by ben, which was lovely!!

Jonny had been out shooting with Cameron (bens workmate) and had managed to shoot a kangaroo, so he was chuffed. i must say i was least than impressed as we had only been stroking them a few days earlier in the zoo but each to their own i guess..

just sitting down watching tv now, Kylie has said that she will drive us to Surfers Paradise on Tuesday as she has to go there anyway to take her mum to hospital, so she sed that way we can save money on the bus fare. they are such a nice family its unreal! they have been so kind to us, i just hope they know how much we appreciate it! dont want to leave to be honest so will definately be making the most of tomorrow! :(
