finally made it to Cairns, and its actually a really beautiful place considering its a City. staying at the Bellview Hostel which is right along the seafront esplanade. dumped our bags at the hostel and made our way to the beach, which was a lsight disappointment as it turned out to be a marina/harbour type thing, however ther consolation was a MASSIVE public pool right on the seafront, by which we spent most of the afternoon laughing at a few budgie smugglers haha.

Booked our greyhound bus ticket which means all our transport is now sorted all the way to sydney, which is a relief. went for a mooch round the night market and had some food, "maccers" as they call it out here (mcdonalds to us) and then had an early night.

so a nice 11 hour bus ride is all booked to Airlie beach for monday. oh the joy!

had my first day fending for myself today as jonny had booked a diving trip which i wasnt too keen on so sed i spend the day mooching around by myself. i spent most of the morning in the internet cafe talking and emailing you lot!! lol then i went and relaxed by the pool. i did however meet alot of cool people today though, it appears people find u more approachable wen your a girl, on your own, sun bathing in a bikini, funny that really... lol

i met 3 guys from Adelaide with who i spent atleast an hour putting the world to rights with, then i met a guy trying to kill a massive eel he had caught, and wen i walked down to meet jonny at the marina after his trip, i ran into (literally) a really sweet guy called ashley, who is from hertfordshire qho has lived here for 5 motnhs now.

had a really nice dayjust relaxing by myself today actually, although i think i may have got a tad burnt, oops! oh well red is better that white, right? lol
