Apologies at how long this has taken me to wirte, we havent stopped anywhere for more than a few days at a time so this is the first time iv actually sat down for five minutes... however i have been taking notes as i go along so i shall start from the beginning of those!... hope it all begins to make sense!

Singapore Airport 16/11/11 20.43pm.

well i have safely made it to singapore airport after a nice 12 hour flight from heathrow! mea and jonny both agree that it still hasnt sunk in yet that we arent just on some 2 week holiday. the flight wasnt as bad as i had imagined it would be, even though i was sat next to a snoring fidgety new zealander (who took an immediate dislike to me after i made the fatal error of "presumming he was an australian!) oops! the plane food was, wel, as expected i guess, soggy, chewy and pretty gross, but when your sat on your bum for so long, it gives you something to do i suppose!

just sitting in the departure lounge now waiting for our tranfer flight to cairns- another 9 hours of sitting on my bum! oh the joy!

singapore airport is a very surreal place though. very slow paced and relaxed, there is currently a guy opposite me playing a grand piano whilst surounded by orchids. weird! i also had a funny moment when me and jonny were mucking around saying "herro" to eachother- when in asia etc... lol and some guy responded to me and looked very pleased that i had bothered to say hello, when infact i hadnt and wa being a bit rude lol still, made me chuckle! lol

Cairns and Port Douglas 17/11/11

So we FINALLY made it to australia!!

not happy after finding out we had to take a third flight via darwin (which we knew nothing about- thanks sta!)

landed in cairns at about 9am. and you could instantly feel the heat, a nice 27 degrees at that time of the morning! eek! decided to get the shuttle bus up to Port Douglas, instead of heading straight to cairns, and with jet lag kicking in and me feeling a little emoitional about everything we needed somewhere quiet. Staying at Parrot fish Lodge, which i must say, for a cheap hostel, is bloody good! AWESOME air-con, thank god!! and a bar, pool, kitchen, decent showers, computers and free brekky and bike hire! however, rather upset that jonny stole top bunk...git! lol

our room mate is called Niall and hes from scotland, he has lived at the hostel for 16 months!!! crazy! also met 2 more guys, both called alex, one from cambridge, one from essex. both really funny and introduced us to everyone to help us settle in. we went for a nice walk (and i got cooked) round the town, and found a gorgeous little beach/cove (now officially mine) lol then chilled out in the bar with the others in the evening.

bed time now though at a sad time of 9pm as we are going on a speedboat reef ride tomorrow, snoreklling for jonny and a glass bottom boat for me!

Feeling really emotional tonight though, its really hit home that im here now and thats its not just for 2 weeks, its 3 months. but hopeuflly il start to relax now and just enjoy it, like im supposed to!!
