Well we have made it to Chiang Mai. Just like I remember it to be. Love it up here.

Arrived yesterday after a 55 minute flight out of the old airport in Bangkok. Did not know if we would make it on time to catch the flight with the way the traffic was. Barely moving but finally our taxi driver got off onto a side street and back on to a major street a few blocks down. A few times I thought that he was going to run over people trying to cross the street. He was on a mission and no one was going to get in his way.
Made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Now the flight out of Bangkok was not too bad at take off. Seems like we went up, leveled off and then down. Got a snack of peanuts and a drink on the flight. Next thing you knew we were landing. And it was not the smoothest one that we have had. The plane seemed to lean to the left and then to the right and back to the left before the pilot straightened it out. Gave me a wee bit of a concern and I could tell that Rene was also concerned. But we made it safe and sound.

Went back to C House which is now Grace Boutique Guest House. Our friend Ke, who ran C House when we were here 3 years ago booked a room for us. We are paying 550. Baht a night which is about $17-18.00. It is a comfortable room with its own bathroom and hot shower, and of course a/c.

Ke and her husband Muei came over to visit us last evening. It was really nice seeing them again and hopefully we will get another chance to spend some time with them.

Today we walked to the Rose Guest House to have breakfast and then wandered a bit.
We wanted to stay close to the room since Rene was charging up the camcorder for tonights festivities. We have the Sunday Walking Market to visit and the Loy Kratong
to video this evening. Hoping to do some shopping at the Walking Market.

Rene is working out at the gym right now which is giving me time to update the blog.

Time to be off again. It is a warm day up here in Chiang Mai but not near as hot as it was in Bangkok. Although I can tell you that it is really nice to be sitting in a a/c mall right now. We have a bit of a walk back and we are almost at 1pm in the afternoon.
Going to be a hot walk I am sure.

Not sure what we are going to be doing tomorrow yet but will figure that out shortly.
