Today is Thursday the 5th and we have been up since 6am this morning. Rene and I went on the Flight of the Gibbon, zip lining through the Jungle. It was great fun. There were 6 others in our group with us. Michael from England, Mary and Cortney from New York, Mark and Marline(?) from France (?) and Ann from Austrailia.
This was our first time zip lining and I was not scared. But for some reason my knees keep shaking. Poor Rene is scared of hights and it took him a bit to get comfortable with the zipping throught the tree tops. Our guides, Mr. B. and North had us going from tree to tree through the jungle for about 2 hours and then headed up to a small set of water falls to take a peek and after that we were all fed. It was a good day and we were back at the guest house before 13:00 hours.
2 days ago we did a cooking course. Our teacher was Joy and she was a joy to work with. She first took us to the food market to explain a few ingrediences to us and to buy some goods and then back to the Thai Kitchen Cooking Center. We cooked about 5 courses and of course ate them all. From spring rolls to soup to curry chicken etc and finishing with mango and sticky rice. Boy was I full by the end of the day. Another good time was had by all.
Last night we went out to the Night Market to do a little bit of shopping. Rene bought some t-shirts and a pair of short. And of course I got a t-shirt too. We only went down one side of the street since we wanted to be back at the guest house on the earlier side so that we could get to bed early with going on the Fllight of the Gibbon today.
The sidewalks are full with stalls for blocks and block. T-shirts, shorts, lanterns, watches, pictures, hand made photo albums, dresses, nick nacks, you name it and you can find it somewhere. It is a great way to spend and evening. And to spend very little money to boot.
Would have uploaded the pictures from today but I forgot the camera cord back at the guest house and it is a bit of a walk back. So either later tonight or tomorrow we will get them on to the site.
Time to run.
