Last night we met up with Ke, Muei, Cartoon & Captian to attend a Khantoke Dinner Show at the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center. Khantoke includes traditional dances from Thailand and the northern tribes people. And some great northern food. The 6 of us sat on the floor were a couple of small wooden table was brought to us with a number of great tasting dishes of food on them. After pigging out we watched the traditional dancing show. The young women that were dancing were all in traditional clothing and all looked very lovely.
For the 2nd part of the show we moved from the dinning room to another room with benches. Here there were Northern Tribe Dancers. We enjoyed the show and spending the evening with Ke and family. Felt sad when we said good-bye to our friends.
This morning, Tuesday 10th of November we were up fairly early and headed up to Doi Suthep. We caught a red truck taxi(cant remember what they are called right now) and headed up the mountain. Our taxi driver drove us up, waited for us to wander around and drove us back in to town. We were gone almost 3 hours and it cost us $15.00 Canadian. Which was more then we had agreed on but the driver did not have change and we could not be upset with all that we got.
We went up the mountain to visit Wat Doi Suthep. There are about 300 stairs to the top where the temple is. There is also a tram for anyone that feel that the stair climb is too much. The stairs really are not too bad altho coming down is definately quicker then going up.
Up on top of the mountain there is a beautiful Wat to wander around that has been there for many a years. Lots of Buddha statues, Bells to ring, and more. The pictures will be added to the web site shorty.
Tonight we will be off to the Night Safari to check it out
