Shaun on the Road
Hey all, as promised I am updating my site on time. I went to Huaraz, a city about 8 hours north of Lima for New Years. I was actually asleep when 2004 officially started. This was the first time in a very, very long time that I have been alseep at midnight on the first day of the year. The reason was that I was camping in the middle of nowhere and it was dark by 7 pm. There was only three of us (not including horses, donkeys, and cows) so it wouldn't have been a rockin' party anyway. The entire trek took us three days, but was supposed to take us four. It was a good thing that all three of us had experience. Some excellent views and snow capped peaks. The best part was that it only rained once.
I got back to Lima on the 4th and stayed with some people that I had met when I was in Lima the last time. It was good to stay with someone because I got sick the day before I left for Santiago. Fortunately I got better next day (yesterday) and was able to board my flight without anything bad being inside of me. I met my friend Drew at the Santiago airport, and we are right now deciding what we are going to do. I think that we are going to go south to a region called Patagonia. Should be a blast. I'll keep you posted on what has happened as soon as we have experienced it.
