Shaun on the Road
Well, I only fly to Punta Arenas tomorrow (the 16th, which also happens to be my birthday) but I figured I'd update the site now to let you all know where I was going. We are flying down to Punta Arenas in the very south of Chile and hiking in the national park called Torres del Paine. I have heard that it is spectacular. I hope I am not disapointed.
Thus far in Chile we have done a lot of outdoor stuff. We have gone white water rafting, biking to a beautiful set of falls, and climbed a smoldering volcano.
Chile is by far the most developed (and therefore most expensive) country in South America. Not nearly as many homeless people, much cleaner, and the infrastructure is better.
I'll keep you updated as to how our trip was. I am heading to Easter Island on the 25th, so I will update the site before I leave for there. Take care and keep writing!
