Hey all, I just wanted to add a little info about where I will be for New Years. Right now I am in the small city of Huaraz, which is about 8 hours north of Lima. Well, I finally caught up on my website. It is actually the 16th of Dec. and I am in Lima Peru. I will be here for the next three weeks or so taking spanish and volunteering at the South American Explorers, an organization that I am a member of. Had an increadible 10 or so days here in Peru. First, I went to the city of Arequipa and on the way I played BINGO on the bus. They play and the winner gets free return fare or something like that. Very funny. I didn't win, but I practiced my spanish numbers and was three numbers off. After I got into town I booked a tour to the Colca canyon, the deepest canyon in the world. I took the 24 hour bus from Guayoquil to Lima yestarday and today. Wow, what a long ride. I also didn't realize that the entire Peruvian coastline was desert. The whole thing. It is bone dry all the way from the Peru, Ecuador border to Santiago in Chile more or less. I have never seen anything quite like it. I am planning on doing a typical tourish loup in the south of Peru. I'll keep you posted as to where I am and what I am doing.
