Monday 24th October - Leaving San Francisco today but before we left we visited Alcatraz Island. Was freezing on the way over on the ferry as there was a really cold wind.

Alcatraz was very interesting, had a tour guide tell us all about the people who have tried to escape, then had an audio tour of the prison itself.

Drove out of San Francisco heading inland for hostel just outside Yosemite National Park, it was just getting dark when we got there and they had messed up our booking so they upgraded us from a dorm to a tent cabin, its basically a large tent with wooden walls a bed and chair, it looks alot like the cells we saw in Alcatraz this morning, minus the toilet. Will add pictures tomorrow when its light enough to take them.
