Sunday 23rd October - spent the day in San Francisco, hired bikes and cycled across the Golden Gate bridge and then on to Salsalido. As the ride was mostly flat Dai decided we should go up what looked like a short hill but it must have been over a mile long. The ride took us around 5 hours in total, a long time of cycling without cycling shorts!! Leaving the coast tomorrow and heading back in land.

Saturday 22nd October - left lighthouse and continued along highway 1. Stopped at Maverick beech to see if there were any of the giant waves, but it was dead flat :-( Followed highway all the way up to San Francisco, saw bridge as we drove in. Walked around up and down some of the steep hills you see on tv. Are staying here for 2 days so hireing bikes tomorrow to ride accross Golden Gate bridge, then going to Alcatraz on Monday.
