We caught the high speed train this morning at Barcelona Sants station. Spain's Renfe high speed trains are very modern and a luxurious way to travel. We were served an early morning coffee and pastry and later a hot breakfast. The train traveled at up to 300km/hr and was very smooth and quiet. Our trip took us south along the coast for a short distance to Tarragona and then we turned inland towards central Spain. We travelled over 1000 km thru the central part of Spain and saw a diversity of terrains, agriculture and industries. Our trip took 5 1/2 hours, we arrived in Seville at 2pm in time for lunch. Our hotel is in a converted Moorish residence and has very modern rooms surrounding a central courtyard. After lunch we went exploring towards the central portion of Seville. Central Seville is a myriad of winding streets and alley ways and navigation is extremely difficult. We found our way to the Cathedral (largest in the world) and back to our hotel with out incident. We are however planning on dinner in the hotel........enough adventure for one day!
