So we arrived at Antelope Park for a one stay on our journey down to Victoria Falls. The camp was really nice and we had a full day to do various activities-Lion Walks, Cub Viewing etc etc etc!! I spent the day chilling by the lake which was really nice, it was hot and I was still feelin pants so a day relaxing was really good!! I signed up for the Lion Encounter at 4am the next day so planned to have an early night!!
The 3:30am wake up was tough!! but the Lion Encounter was pretty funny!! we saw the lions hunting etc and when we saw them go in for a chase we tried to follow them in our 4x4 - hit a termite mound at full speed all went flying and one of the guides actually fell out the truck haha absolutely wet myself laughing but not sure he found it as hilarious as me and Vicky!!
That same day we travelled to Hwange National Park, again just for one night. I was ill but the others went on a night gae=me drive and I stayed behind in the tent...NEVER AGAIN!!! I absolutely s**t myself, it was 10pm and all I could hear was hyenas and then something came and knocked the bin over right near my tent and was sat eating out of it!! I could even hear it licking from a can!! I sat frozen still for another hour before the rest of the group returned and the buggar ran away...
The day after we had an early morning game drive, didn't see a huge amount, the odd elephant a lion, some hippo etc then we headed off on our journey to Victoria Falls.
We arrived late afternoon, the town is actually in the National Park which is really cool because warthogs, elephants etc just stroll around, past the shops lol. The campsite is nice, me and Vic upgraded to a room as were staying for 3nights. EN-SUITE, AIR CON AND A BLOOMING PLUG SOCKET!! GHD's OH YES!! haha. We had a relaxing afternoon and evening.
The next day (yesterday) a few of us did the adrenalin day-one word...SCARY!! the zip line and flying fox across the gorge was so much fun, cool views...the gorge 'swing' however was basically a free fall jump. I was terrified but it was so much fun. Jumped twice-the feeling is basically like your falling to your death haha. Jumped straight forward the first time then did a handstand off it and went head first the second time!! so much fun!! We then spent the afternoon shopping, writing you guys posties oh and visiting the medical centre!! yes my punch has killed me and yes I haven't eaten in days!! the doctor said STRICTLY NO ALCOHOL!! really? you've just said that to a Priestnal?!! haha
Today we visited the actually falls which are unbelievable!! totally loved them but we got soaked!! even my rented $2 poncho didn't keep me dry. I would definately recommend a visit here though the falls are gorgeous and the people are so so friendly!! Tonight we are having a local meal/bbq and then we head off to Chobe and Botswana. Only bad thing is saying bye to a few good friends who leave the trip tomorrow :-(
Will update again soon xxx
