Today my first stop was the Natural History museum. I arrived there at about 10.30am, but there was already a pretty big line to get in- lots of families with kids! Once inside I headed to the Dinosaur section first, as it is the moat popular and busiest. They had a lot of full skeletons, and a motorized T-Rex that was quite realistic and felt like he was looking straight at me!!
From here I went to the section called Cocoon, which is all about the research that's being done at the museum, the scientists, how they preserve the species, etc. It was pretty interesting, and rather quiet compared to the rest of the place which was swarming with people! After a quick walk though the other sections (mammals, birds, insects) I left the National History Museum and walked across to the Victoria and Albert Museum. There was no line, and much fewer people!
Here there was a wide selection of arts from all over the world ! One of the highlights was the oldest dated carpet in the world, The Ardabil Carpet. It was made as one of a matching pair in the late 1530s for the shrine at Ardabil. It was damaged, and so they used parts from the second one to fix the first!
I had some soup and bread from their cafe, which was in an amazing room ( see the picture!) and then checked out the upstairs! They also had lots of hands on and computer touch screens- I designed my own monogram and flower embroidery print! Haha
Later on I met up with Todd and we went and saw The Woman In Black, which was excellent! There were only two actors, who were amazing ( plus the scary woman and black) and made us jump a few times!! scaryyy!!!
