Unfortunately a big storm came through in the night, and the weather wasn't looking any better when we got up in the morning, nevertheless we decided to do a road trip and take in some of the sights of southern Sweden! After a late start we packed up, loaded up the car, and headed south to Skanor. Skanor is actually an island off the south west coast of Sweden, but it's connected by a bridge. It's known as the Hamptons of Sweden, as lots of people have fancy summer houses here. After feeling petty hungry early on we pulled off the road in search of a castle and something to eat. Today we woke up nice and early and took the subway to Hornstull, and went for a long walk along the waterfront. Today we had a later start, and explored some if the streets around Stinas neighborhood. We went to this very cool indoor market with all sorts of local produce, fish, bread, cheese, pastries, etc. Everything looked really fresh and healthy. We also stopped in a store that has heaps of cool fabric, and the designs are based off of some guys paintings. First day in Sweden we walked down by the water and over to the Vassa Museum. The Vassa was a massive ship that was built back in the 1628 and then only set sail for a few minutes before sinking!! The amazing thing is though in the 1950s someone found the Vassa and arranged to have it brought back up to the surface! It was salvaged in 1961 after 333 years of being under the sea!
