Day 1 in London:
First I went to the Museum of London, which shows the history of London dating way way back to millions of years ago, up until today. It was very informative and well done, and I learnt a lot about Londons history!
Next stop was Borough market, which is one of Londons oldest market, selling mostly meat and produce. I was lucky enough to try a bunch of samples including cinnamon almonds, delicious gourmet chocolate, infused olive oil, yummy chutney and jam! I bought myself an organic veggie burger with hummus for lynch, and ate it while waiting for a passing shower to finish!
Next I went to Waterloo station to meet my good friend Yun (who i know from qingdao) who has come to hang out with me for a few days!
Day 2:
Today we headed to Covent garden amd walked around the market stalls and shops. We saw a street performer , and i bought a very cool new ring for just £10! After a tasty chicken pie for lunch we headed to the national gallery!
Here we saw Van Gough's famous sunflower painting, a few of Monet's smaller water lilies, and lots more! We also chatted to an old man who was sketching in the gallery and a bit mad! Haha
Next we headed over to Tate Modern for a look at some more modern works of art! Some of it was a bit beyond my grasp of art, but others were pretty neat. From here we walked across the
Millennium bridge and headed to Google headquarters to meet Todd for free drinks! The google office is prety awesome, all staff get free food, snacks, drinks, they had a smoothie bike, and free tampons for women in the bathroom!
From here we went with a couple of Todds work mates to a restaurant called Garlic and Shots, which specializes in Garlic and shots, funnily enough!! They even serve weird things like garlic beer and garlic ice cream! We stuck with garlic bread and nachos ( with garlic of course) , which were pretty good! From here we went to a nearby bar for drinks, and then home!
