Sailing around the Whitsundays was amazing, the islands were so beautiful, especially Whitsunday Island where we went to Whitehaven Beach. We spent a few hours on the beach, it was like paradise, walking on the sand was like walking on flour. We walked into the sea for ages but however far we walked the water never reached our knees. Definately the nicest beach we have been to so far on our travels and I can't see any others being better. We sailed for a few hours each day, we even had a jacuzzi to enjoy the view from! Had a few stops to snorkel in the reefs. I even got the chance to scuba dive, it was amazing after finally getting over the fear of being attacked by a shark. There were so many colourful fish and coral, a dream fulfilled to dive in the Great Barrier Reef. One of the funniest moments of our trip so far was when we went snorkelling. We were both snorkelling along side by side looking at all the pretty fish when we come across what looked like a 'fish highway' - every fish in the area was following the same path. I saw it and avoided it because there were so many fish - David on the otherhand heads straight for it, he is surrounded by fish, he can't swim anywhere without him touching them or them swimming right in front of his mask. After a few seconds I start to hear a girl screaming - it wasn't a girl though, it was David. The fish were biting him all over, especially his toes!! There was no way I was going back to help. I couldn't really though I was busy choking because I was laughing so much. It was the funniest thing. After that he snorkelled with his toes out of the water looking very strange. The second time we went snorkelling David managed to get everyone out of the water by claiming he saaw a jellyfish - they're deadly! Nobody else managed to see it but I was dragged out of the sea so fast, managing to hit my legs on everything on the way into the boat and I still have the bruises to prove it! Anyway the trip was so much fun - definately a highlight of Australia.
