Spent a night in Mackay on our way down the coast. We arrived on the Sunday and there was nobody about!! - nothing was open and nobody was in the town. It was so quiet!! The day after we decided to hire a bike and cycle around the town. We visited the Botanic Gardens, the beach and even found "Petrie St.". We cycled for hours around the town in the boiling heat before catching our bus for Hervey Bay.
