A highly entertaining 24 hours in Bilbao. It started with an early walk through the old town. The place was busy with deliverers bringing food and drink to the many restaurants. Sat there with a coffee and watched it all happen. After my breakfast I filled in the rest of the day wandering the old town. Got back to my hotel and had my afternoon nap. Feeling rested and a little excited , I headed out the door in the mid afternoon toward the Plaza De Toro to see the bull fights. I was there way too early so I found a bar near the stadium and settled in for beers and snacks. Here I got chatting to a guy from San sensation who had just returned from Australia and we talked about the bull fights and he showed me where to get tickets etc. I watched the spectacle for two and a half hours. There were 8 fights. I sat next to a bunch of basque guys from a village 10kms out of Bilbao and they invited me to go on a pub crawl with them. I joined them until I got lost in the massive crowd. I ended up wandering around till 6 am. Ducking in and out of bars speaking to different people and taking it all in. I ended up back at the hotel and told the guy on the front desk that I would not be leaving and would need another day.
