Hello,
Well I am still alive! Infact I am having a great time so far. I slept very well in my room last night, and went out this rmonring and went to a cafe where I got chatting to a couple of Isreali guys and some french girls, and tehy all iended up giving me lots more great advice. I then went on a hunt for the metro station, and went completely the wrong way and ended up in Connaught place, which is the main park. I sat down to read my guide to find out where on earth I was and bumped into two ozzie and american guys who had also not long arrived in delhi. We then decided to go to the national museum together so got a rickshaw across town to the meseum, which was pretty interesting. We then got a rickshaw back to the part of town i am staying in with the main bazaar and wondered around for a while, saw some cool sites and then got something to eat. We all got Veg thali which was amazing. We then wondered around a bit more before stopping for a mango lassi, and the ozzie guy decided to get a henna tattoo, the guys do them in the street and they look amazing. As he was geting his doen a policman came along and shouted at all the henna men and kicked their stalls over, so the man quickly escorted us round the back of a stall and carried on! Hte man was trying to persuade me to have my hands done, but I kept saying no, and in the end he offered to do it for free! So i had one of my hands done, only a small amount but looks pretty cool.
The american guy, jack, is a street performer, so he is going to perform tomorrw and jouden and I are going to watch. I decided my next step would be getting a sleeper train to a town called Varnasi and as Jack is leaving tomorrow Jouden has decided to come with me. I think we will go on Sunday so we will go and get a train ticket tomorrow.
It is really nice just wondering the streets and seeing people getting on with their lives, we wondered through a fruit and spice market whihc was cool to see. The people treat dogs horribly here though, they kick them and throw things at them, but the dogs are really very tame here, unlike in other parts of asia where they walk around in packs terrorising people!
Anyway, that is what I have been up to today, generally getting advice from other tourists and meeting lots of nice people. Makes me realise why I love travelling so much.
Bye for now!
