Namaste,
Sorry Ihaventwritten in a while. Rawdon and I completed out 19 hour train journey arriving back in Delhi in time to pick Tabbi up from the airport the next day. It was so good to see her!! We went back on the Metro and went to do some sight seeing. We went to see Humayans Tomb which is very similar to the outer buildings at the Taj Mahal. Over the next couple of days we did more sightseeing, including Indias largest mosque, a Jain temple, the red fort, and lots of walking in the streets and shopping! Tabbi and I started to plan what we would do next and decided to go to a nature reserve, so spent two hours at the train station queueing to get a ticket. As we were about to leave for this place we tried to phone the hotel as we hadn't managed to make a booking, and purly by chance wondered into a travel agents who found out that this place was closed! So we had to stay an extra night in Delhi and ended up booking a train up to Shimla, where we are now. We said goodbye to Rawdon in Delhi who has now made his way to Bangkok. Tabbi and I got a very nice business class train up to a town called Kalka where we expected to be abel to get a cool 'toy train' up to Shimla, only to discover they were fully booked. We ended up getting a taxi with a local couple up to Shimla which took 2-3 hours up windy mountain roads. Shimla is a tourist town for Indians, so very few westerners here. It is really strange because it was built by the british and so has a church and lots of very English buildings. I would describe it as a cross between Lynton and Lynmouth, Switzerland, and cornwall. Full of Indians. It even had horse rides, candy floss, and ice cream. It is totally bizarre. We are on the mountain side and it is very misty most of the time, so have only managed to get some pictures of the views. We are mainly wondering around, looking at the local places. We are going to a place called Manali the day after tomorrow.
No woman no cry, no worry no Chai.
