Day 102 Hoi An - Hue
It was an early start for us, as we had a bus at 7:30 to Hue. Annoyingly the bus didn't arrive until 9:00 am, luckily this gave us a chance to have breakfast. Roger got talking to a guy called Jacques, he's really nice and from New Zealand. The bus arrived whilst we were eating breakfast, which we literally had to run and jump onto. It was a long journey and we booked into a hotel with Jacques.
We went for a long walk down to the river, it's really quiet here. We had lunch and a drink and fortunately it was happy hour, so we stayed there until 7. We decided to leave and have dinner and then onto a bar, lots of dancing and drinking. Rog and I won the pool competition against Jacques and Nicky.
Overall it was a very un-productive day but we had an awesome night.
Day 103
We rented some motorbikes for the day and went to the Citadel, quite amazing although ruined in the war. We saw two Elephants and lots of fish, it was really relaxing inside with spectacular buildings. Roger was a bit shaky with his manual bike to begin with, although he picked up pretty quick. We went across the narrowest bridge in the world on the bike, thank God for Roger's steady driving. We got lost looking for the Tiger Temple and ended up at a Tomb, which was heavily influenced by the Chinese in terms of its architecture. Back on the bikes we took the wrong route and ended up driving through incredible paddy fields and rural landscape. We saw a massive statue at another tomb and then went to the supermarket to buy some food for our journey to Hanoi.
Roger and Jacques had bought pizza for themselves and me a bread roll - cheers guys!! It was the worse coach journey ever, with no barrow to hold you in whilst you were lying down on your top bunk, it was also freezing cold.
