Day 86 Kampot- Ha-Tien
GOOD MORNINNNNNNNG VIETNAMMMM!!!!!
The Tuk- Tuk driver from yesterday picked us up at nine for our journey to the Vietnam border. This took about an hour, and consisted of us driving down a dirt road (very bumpy), through paddy fields and tiny villages. We were met at the border by 2 guys and their motorbikes, who escorted us through to Vietnam. The border was just a shed and simple barrier, but on the Vietnamese side an enormous building which took a while to get through. Once in Vietnam the 2 guys took us to Ha Tien (The Mekong Delta), where we checked into a guesthouse. This was after they took us to their mate, where they
tried to scam us saying there were only 2 buses a week to Can Tho, and it was $6 more than what we had read. It had scam written all over it.
We went for lunch which was really good, and just walked around the town and through the markets. They were mainly fish markets and stank, but good to see. We also found out through a local moto driver that if we go to the bus station we can get to Can Tho for ₤2. We arranged with him to pick us up in the morning and take us to the bus station. Walking around town we went for a drink along the river for sunset, then to Dinner, where we ordered way to much food, but it was so cheap!
