A truth that I am learning from an experiential stand rather that simply head knowledge is:
Do not ever accept defeat or that is exactly what you will get. You will have whatever you believe in the most. Stand firm.
Ephesians 6:13-14 (NIV)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. [14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
When times get really hard and you feel like you're falling, that is when you need to stand firm. This is when the devil is put to shame because YOU really know that he is defeated. True faith is when we can stand firm and believe the truth instead of the lies, then he has lost his grip and power. What we see in the natural is an illusion made to look real, but make no mistake it's a lie.
So then how does this apply?
It applies to any stand you are making based on God's word of truth or any Rhema word He has given you. Choose today to declare openly…'I am not going to succumb to any condemnation but I will allow myself to be subject to the conviction of Holy Spirit only.'
One of the reasons why it is good to declare out loud is the fact, that even though Holy Spirit can hear and understand us, the enemy is not able to read our thoughts! Therefore by making a declaration we are effectively saying to the enemy, 'I will not listen to your lies anymore but I choose to follow the Lord's leading and stand firm on His truth. It is this principle that will enable us to gain victory as we stand firm on God's truth. As you resist the devil, he will flee from you.
