BUT YOU'RE NOT HEALED YET! HAS NOT GOD FAILED YOU OR LET YOU DOWN?
This is going to be a long blog, so if you don't have the time, leave the reading until another day as I will be tackling an important question.
Of course the main reasons for coming here to Redding, were to firstly experience a spiritual breakthrough and I'm really pleased that I believe that process has well and truly commenced and God has radically transformed our minds and so we will be leaving this place in another month with a whole new grid for ministry and how to operate with his favour.
However secondly, we also had an expectation for a break through in terms of my physical healing from the effects of a stroke. Even though our time here has not yet finalised, a good question that may arise is that 'it would appear that even though you are witnessing many, many people be healed from various ailments including major sicknesses such as cancer and MS, and you have not yet received you healing despite huge efforts to press into God and obtain prayer from every available source, even so you have no healing, how are you reacting?'
Well, instead of becoming embittered with God because I have not received my healing, even though many others have and also even though I have heard many many testimonies of people having been healed from an identical condition to mine, I choose not to be offended or disappointed at God and there are very good reasons for this. Please don't think that I don't have some 'bad' days where I feel low and disappointed, but in the main those days are becoming fewer and fewer.
First I believe that in the spiritual realm I have my healing! *It is now a matter of waiting for its release from heaven to earth
*If you are interested as to why I believe so strongly in healing today, see at the end of this blog 'My Mandate for Biblical Healing'
2nd that we have completed the task of contending by continually and regularly seeking prayer. This has been achieved through the thousands of prayers that are now before the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
In fact we have had prayer from some of the most highly anointed and gifted people of faith in the world. Some of these include:
Bill Johnson
Randy Clarke
John Mellor
Steve Backlund
Kevin Dedmon
Chris Gore
Joaquin Evans
Chris Overstreet
Seth Dahl
Roland Baker
Tracey Armstrong
Don Waldo
Kris Kildosher
Bethel Kid's Church
Bethel Healing Room Teams
Notice mention 100's of other individuals.
3rd It’s a time to be thankful (not disappointed) and praise God for what we cannot see but what we believe and hope for by faith.
Romans 4:20-21 (NIV)
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, [21] being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
4th God has a time and we cannot make it 'our' time or anyone else’s time because it has to be 'His' time and for His purposes.
If one remembers the story of Lazarus, you will recall that Jesus delayed His coming to see Lazarus for four days. Jesus could well have spoken the word and he could have healed without even being there! However Jesus had other purposes in mind and His timing was such that He knew that Lazarus would ultimately pass away and that Jesus' intention was that He was going to raise him from the dead. The point being that Jesus has a time for everything and we need to be prepared in case that timing is not always 'now'.
5th I now have a new revelation and understanding of God and this affects my whole thinking process. God has revealed the extent of the Father/son relationship and I now know my identity in Him as well as the fact that He is always good.
So that, with my previous mindset my reaction after prayer and no healing would have been, 'God doesn't love me like He love's others'. However, my new mindset is such that 'He is always good and He loves me as His son and my circumstances do not dictate the truth of His goodness, His love for me or what He's going to do by healing me.'
Perhaps this blog is more a journal entry for me only as I solidify some of my thinking and my conclusions to the question posed above . But it also will hopefully provide you with some insight into how I'm travelling and moving forward with this whole issue.
Thank you again but taking the time to read and ponder with me.
Love
Rob
My biblical mandate for healing the sick and for my own healing……
1 John 2:6 (NLT)
Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
1John 2:6 (NIV)
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Jesus handed this power over to His disciples and to all believers who would come after them.)
Matthew 10:8 (NIV)
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Acts 4:29-30 (NIV)
Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. [30] Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."
John 14:12 (NIV)
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
John 14:20 (NIV)
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
James 5:14-16 (NIV)
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. [15] And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. [16] Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Mark 16:17-18 (NIV)
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; [18] ..........they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
Miracles done by av. Christians other than the apostles
Galatians 3:5 (NIV)
Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?
Paul speaking to Gal church
Acts 8:5-7 (AMP)
Philip the deacon, not the apostle went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Christ (the Messiah) to them the people; [6] And great crowds of people with one accord listened to and heeded what was said by Philip, as they heard him and watched the miracles and wonders which he kept performing from time to time. [7] For foul spirits came out of many who were possessed by them, screaming and shouting with a loud voice, and many who were suffering from palsy or were crippled were restored to health.
Note: Philip who was the deacon not the apostle.
Luke 10:1,9 (NIV)
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. [9] Heal the sick who are there and tell them, `The kingdom of God is near you.'
Not all the 72 were the apostles.
Matthew 7:21-22 (NIV)
"Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
I wonder if J was referring to the 72 (many of whom were not to become apostles n who later turned away from J?)
This verse shows that Jesus expected miracles to operate.
Mark 16:17-18 (NIV)
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; [18] they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
This verse speaks to all who believe, not just apostles.
