London Day 4
Today everyone went their separate ways. Kristin and the boys went to the Harry Potter movie studio, my parents went to the Victoria and Albert Museum, the kids and I went to the British museum, Amy walked around the Knightsbridge posh shops and stores.
Amy, Ellie, Luke, and I met up for lunch at a pub. Luke had met up with his friend from Hamline, Rowan, at the museum and he had lunch with us as well (pies and pints at a pub). Rowan was an exchange student from Bristol who was at Hamline last year. He currently goes to university in Belfast. Luke and Rowen went of on their own and Amy, Ellie, and I went to the Tate Britain art museum. We were bummed because some of the galleries were closed and they had the paintings we really wanted to see.
We then went off on our own again. Amy and Ellie headed toward the National Gallery and I went to Hyde Park.
Luke and I finally got out soccer game in tonight. We took the tube and then a bus to North London and took in Walthamstow FC (7th tier of English football) vs Leyton Orient FC (4th tier of English football) at the very small Wadham Lodge sports stadium. Traveling in London during rush hour was interesting, lots of people and delays. Predictably, Leyton Orient won 3-0. We had pizzas and pints for dinner and experienced English grass roots football on a beautiful evening.
The journey back to our hotel was a lot easier and a lot less crowded.
Tomorrow: not really sure…
