I have just arrived in Airlie Beach - its dark - but I think I can make out that it will be great here! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is probably the best so far!

The bus trip was one to remember - I fell down the toilet! So, I was really needing the toilet and couldnt wait for another hour or so until the next stop, so I decided to brave it and use the onboard facilities... the bus must have been going at least 60 - 70mph, as I sat down, it crossed my mind that it probably wasnt a good idea... I was right... the next thing I knew, I was swaying side to side and then ended up down the toilet! Getting up was even funnier because the bus was still moving!

Anyway, moving on, I met some girls on the bus - Edel from Ireland and Frederica & Serena from Italy - they were really nice and within half an hour of getting to know them we had decided to meet up tonight for drinks.

We arrived at the bus station at Airlie Beach and decided to have a little bit of fun with the minibus driver who was waiting for me, to take me to Beaches Hostel...

The girls were booked to stay in another hostel, five doors up from mine, it was a fair walk to the main road where we were staying and they hadnt arranged for transport, so we told the driver (also from Ireland) that they were also staying at the Beaches Hostel. Total lie!! He completely fell for it and we loaded the bags into the back of the minibus, well he did! Whilst he was loading the minibus up, we were planning a way of getting out of the fact that the girls werent really staying.. I suggested that whilst the vehicle was moving, they jump out and I would throw the bags out after them...! Of course it was a ridiculous idea, but humour me here! So, we pulled up outside Beaches and had to admit to the driver that they were staying at another hostel, which turned out to be my hostels competitor! The driver found it absolutely hilarious, as did we, and couldnt believe that he fell for it. He even had the cheek to ask us all if we had been drinking before he had picked us up!

Ive just checked into a female dorm, the room is huge and is ensuite - I feel at home! Ive just had a shower (first one is two days) and used my hair straighteners! Yippee!

I havent got much planned for tomorrow because I am going on a three day / two night sailing trip around the Whitsundays on Wednesday afternoon.
