Puerto Montt is the gateway to Chile's Lake District. We took a tour to the scenic towns of Puerto Varas and Fruitillar both located on Lake Llanquihue. Puerto Varas is known as the city of roses and there is no question why....roses everywhere!
From this city along the lake there is a great view of Osorno Volcano.
Then we moved onto Fruitillar which was settled by the Germans. We had to have some of the wonderful pastries in a small beach cafe. (As if we haven't had enough to eat on the ship it seems many tours include food!?!)
The cruising is great! We will be leaving the fiords soon but have enjoyed many days cruising the channel and fiords.
