As you can see from the picture, I went to Alcatraz this morning. I nearly missed the boat though as I thought I put my alarm on snooze but I turned it off instead! So I had to run! It was really good though. Very interesting. The cells are 6ft x 9ft and 7ft tall. Really, really small and they got no privacy at all. There were even isolation cells that were called "the hole" and the prisoners were put in there for misbehaviour and they were left in pitch black for hours. After Alcatraz I did a bay cruise that was absolutely freezing as I was sitting on the top deck with the wind blowing through me it felt. The boat went under the Golden Gate Bridge, which I walked across at the beginning of the month but it's a completely different perspective. Next, I went in the Aquarium of the Bay, which I'm glad I didn't pay for separately as it didn't take me very long to go round. I saw sharks though! They were only small but cool all the same.
No idea what I'm doing this evening apart from cooking and eating my dinner. There are quite a few cool people to hang out with though so should be good.
Tomorrow morning I have to check out of the hostel at 10am and I don't need to be at the bus station until about 1.30pm. So not really sure what I'm going to do until then as there really isn't too much more to see here. I'm looking forward to seeing Seattle. Not really sure what I'm going to do there but I bought a guidebook so I'm sure I can find plenty to do for my 5 nights there. Want to chill out a bit but it'll depend on the weather. There's only so much you can do if it's raining!
Will be back on the internet on Thursday when I'm going to chat to Sarah on MSN about 5.15pm GMT so if anyone else wants to come on then feel free.
