Well it rained again today unsuprisingly. Yesterday I went to the deYoung and Legion of Honor museums where I saw loads of art work. The deYoung was mainly contemporary American art most of the artists I'd never heard of and most of the paintings were abstract so I wasn't really sure what I was looking at! The Legion of Honor museum is perched up on a hill in Lincoln Park over looking the Golden Gate Bridge and houses some of the great masters including Monet and Picasso. I saw the Water Lillies, which was great. It's a big painting!

Today I visited the Asian Art Museum and saw lots of Buddha statues! The museum basically was a collection on statues, paintings, ceramics and costumes from different Asian countries, illustrating the spread of Buddhism across Asia. It was very interesting. I watched a video about Angkor Wat which made me even more excited to visit it. I also went to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art which houses some really strange installation artwork with spinning lights and yellow rooms etc, followed by contemporary photography and then the best gallery Matisse and beyond where I saw some Matisse, of course, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Lictenstein, Georgia O'Keefe and more. It was really good. I bought a City Pass which gave me entrance to all these museums and I also get to go to the Aquarium of the Bay and on a boat trip around the bay tomorrow. The Pass also includes a public transport pass so I can get on and off buses, trolleys and cable cars as much as I want. The pass works out as $54 and you get $105 worth of stuff.

Tomorrow I've got a full on day. I plan to do Alcatraz in the morning, followed by the bay cruise, the Aquarium and the Boudin Bakery Tour which is also included in my pass. It's meant to be a 7 day pass but I only had 3 days in which to cram it all in! And it's dark by 6pm!

Tonight is supposed to be Movie Night at the Hostel and they are showing Reservoir Dogs at 8.30pm so I might go and watch that. Otherwise nothing else to report!
