Today we had to get up to say goodbye to Shona, reducing our kiwi family even further. We also had the fun adventure of checking out to check back in to a different room, only to find that they actually sorted it so that we didn't have to move rooms at all - which basically means we got up early and packed everything up for absolutely nothing. Joy.
The weather also put a damper on our mood as it was very cold and windy, making us think our paragliding in the afternoon wasn't likely to go ahead. It turns out we were right about that so instead we changed our paragliding booking to Thursday and made a last minute decision to jump on the next Shotover Jet Boat trip. We couldn't handle being in the hostel all day.
We'd heard mixed reviews about the jet boat so we weren't entirely sure what to expect. However, we actually really enjoyed it! Even though it was absolutely freezing because we were going 70mph with cold water splashing on our faces, we got a good thrill from the 360 degree turns and it was a nice change from just chilling in the hostel.
We returned to the hostel to find some of our friends we had left behind in Kaiteriteri had caught up with us and after a good catch up, Charlotte, Aidan and I went hunting for some St Patrick day outfits. You'll just have to wait and see the pictures tomorrow!!
We're still trying to decide what to do tonight - whether to be sensible and have a quiet night before St Patrick's day tomorrow, or go out because new people have arrived. All I know is, Aidan and I are heading off soon to go to Cookie time for their happy hour. Priorities.
