An absolutely brilliant night in Wellington was slightly ruined by the departure of the bus at 7.15am to get the ferry across to the south island. This also meant myself and Nat running around at 7am to make sure the boys actually got on the bus and didn't miss the ferry!

Once we boarded, everyone completely crashed out. The rest of us who couldn't get comfy enough to sleep spent the journey playing cards, chatting and eating. Then about 3 hours into the ferry journey (considering it's only supposed to take about 2 ½ hours), we got an announcement letting us know that we couldn't dock yet because the winds were too powerful.

Another hour later, we got a second announcement saying we still couldn't dock and they started giving away free food and hot drinks to calm everyone down. But we had just bought some lunch, so the free food was more taunting than kind!

We even got so bored that we decided to play a game we called 'find Callum', who had been missing for the entire ferry ride. Sadly he was only asleep in the next room so that entertainment didn't exactly last a long time!

Finally we got of the bloody ferry, only to get straight back on the bus to travel to Kaiteriteri. The only redeeming part of the ferry over was the Labrador puppy at baggage reclaim which gave everyone a much needed boost after a 6 hour ferry journey.

The weather in the south island had taken a turn for the worse and our driver was feeling as sick of travelling as we were, so we sped off straight to Kaiteriteri.

The issue with Kaiteriteri is it's a place of walking and kayaking. So the awful weather meant there was absolutely nothing to do there.

Instead we grabbed some pizza and ate on the beach, before Nat, Matt and I made our way to the playground - the only fun thing to do in Kaiteriteri!

After messing about in the playground for longer than we'd like to admit and being offered drugs by some interesting characters, we headed to bed, whilst I tried to forget that this was the last night I had with Ryan and Nat until Queenstown.
