Leaving for Westport this morning also meant leaving Nat, Ryan and TomTom behind - our first casualties of the trip. It hit Aidan and I a lot harder than we had anticipated as we didn't realise how close we had gotten with them in such a short space of time.
The weather seemed to reflect our mood as it rained pretty much all day, meaning our stop at Nelson Lake wasn't as nice as it could've been.
Due to the rubbish weather, our driver decided to do a more direct journey to the hostel, so we got there early afternoon. This gave us enough time to go to the supermarket (in the pouring rain) and get some supplies for dinner. We had a room of 12 with our own kitchen so David and I decided to make Spaghetti Bolognaise with garlic bread. Yum.
Most people ended up in our room because it was the biggest so we spent the evening chilling and watching movies. We did get a bit bored though so DG went and bought some cake mixture so we could bake a cake. The only issue was he forgot the egg so we had more of a sickly brownie cake! However, the decoration made up for it and we were pretty pleased with our cake once we had finished.
After a few more hours of doing nothing we went to bed, hoping the weather would be better tomorrow.
