Today we left the hostel at 9am to head to Queenstown. Before we left Wanaka we went to Puzzling World. Gina and I got this free with our Explore New Zealand cards. Entry is normally $12.00. There are loads of puzzles to try and solve and we tried to conquer the maze and illusion house. Puzzling World opened its gates in 1973 with the world's first wooden maze. Over time, a 'Puzzling Centre' was developed for visitors to try their skill in solving a range of puzzles. An extra level was then added to the maze (the worlds first 3D maze). Illusion rooms were also included to complement the brain bending theme of the business. From humble beginnings with little growth, both Wanaka and Puzzling World are now major tourist destinations. Puzzling World welcomes over 160,000 visitors a year. We left here and headed around the edge of Lake Dunston towards the Kawarau Gorge. We stopped off at the historical suspension bridge over the Kawarau river where the Kawarau Bungy is located. The bridge was built in 1880 and assisted miners trying to reach Queenstown. It is now celebrated as the first commerically operated bungy site in the world. We watched a short video on the secrets of bungy jumping and then went outside to watch people bungy jumping off the Kawarau bridge. Its only 43 metres high but it still looked really scary. Ross, Keira and Kirsty did the bungy jump and then after watching them Gina found out that we get 40% off this with our Explore New Zealand cards including family and friends. You can do a tandem jump so Gina persuaded Jo to do it with her as I didn't want to do it. They got strapped together and went to the edge of the platform. Gina shouted 'Oh my god' as she looked down. On the count of three they jumped and you could hear them scream as they bounced upside down. Gina and Jo said it was very intense with the ground rush and not very nice when you hang upside down for a bit at the end before they come and get you down. They are glad that they did it once though and bought all the photos and DVD as well. We then headed to Queenstown and had a group photo in front of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables mountain range. We checked into our hostel - Base where we are staying for 2 nights which is free with our Explore New Zealand cards. We are in a dorm room with Chris, Andrew, Jo, Nicole and Keira. I went down to Base Travel and bought the group photo for $12.00. In the evening we met up with Will and Scott for dinner and then headed out for a big night with everyone from the Kiwi Experience as we are all staying in Queenstown for different lengths of time. We went to the hostel bar Attitude. It was sexual night and a competition on to win loads of prizes. Groups of two people had to do as many sexual positions as they could think of and then had to talk over a porn video that was silent. Gina took part in this competition and was nearly paired up with a complete stranger but when the time came to the competition the guy was no where to be seen. Instead she paired up with Alex who I had met in the Auckland Base hostel before the Kiwi Experience had started. Before the competition we had paid for the jagerbomb train and I was the lucky person to hit the first shot over and start off the jagerbomb train. I was worried that I would do it wrong but it went round like a domino effect just fine. It was the first time I had tried jagerbombs and they were really nice. The competition started and two guys were first to do the sexual positions. They only got 12 positions. Then it was Gina and Alex's turn and they got 16 sexual positions. It was so funny to watch and there is photo evidence as well lol. The next round was the porn video voice over. The two guys were rubbish saying the same things over and over again but Gina and Alex were really good and won the round against the guys who were three weeks in a row champions. The final round was a vibrator race to decide whether Gina or Alex would win. It was hilarious to watch these vibrators racing downhill on the table. Gina won and received a canyon experience but Alex also received a 2 for 1 body piercing voucher. Then we went into town to World Bar. You can buy teapots of alcohol in them from here which is pretty random lol. Becky and Nicola were out as well as Will, Scott, Alex, Jo, Nicole, Keira, Cam our driver, Emma and loads more people from the Kiwi Experience. It was a wicked night. At 3am we headed over the road and got ourselves a Fergburger. They are massive and very tasty. Anyone who visits Queenstown must try one of these burgers.
