Hey all!!
Just sat down to another amazing meal.. we love it here. we arrived yesterday after an overnight train trip from Bangkok.. Found out once seated on the train we got majorly ripped off by V! however it was our first good sleep. We recommend catching the night trains. It leaves at 8pm and arrived at Nong Kai at 9am. compfy beds for $12 per person.. it took ten hours to get here to Nong Kai and we drank Chang (thai beer) and played cards.. Then slept.. oh and lets not forget the mail order bride and her man in the next bunk to us...
We arrived in a rainy Nong Kai and caught a dodgey tuk tuk to the open minds house! we know the brakes arnt working when the brakes are squeeling around the corners. We both love it here. We have met amazing volunteers as well as the beautiful mixed culture staff!
The rain finally stopped in the afternoon and we decided to borrow the push bikes and the motor bike helmets and set off down the Mekong. We rode down to the indo china market where we stopped for coffeee. Getting chased by young Thai kids bellowing how are u, how are u was definately a highlight.. Ohh and the man that was patting his chickens!
Dinner, was amazing! BBQ, hot pot right on the river. YEs, thats right. Unlimited food in which u decide what way u want to cook it.. fried, steamed or boiled. VEgies, meat, seafood, icecream, curries, fried yummyies and LEO beer!
