Monday began with our usual coffee and donuts gazing out from the varanda at the morning mist and luming buffalo mountins. Great way to start the week. Lots of energy between the both of us and I am ready to tackle shopping at school, and Rikki numbers and how are you?.
We arrived at school the usual time (8am), the english word today was cupid, and this morning was the morning we would teach the entire school the nut bush.. "Left Left, Right Right"!!! Each lesson we will do the nut bush with the kids.. Nothing like a little bit of early morning exercise huh! I finally met my co english teacher who had been away the previous week as he was sitting his exams to become a director (principle). His name is Mr Bunjan. I taught period 1,2,3 stright up with him and the students enjoyed buying the hand drawn computer, Mobile phones, houses, fruits and clothes that were for sale. We also cleared up the difference between house and home, and how to pronounce vegetable, technique and clinic. Lunch with Pee Pok, Pho and Hong at the noodle bar. Noodles with 'dogs balls', spicy (pet) papaya salad and coke was on the menu. Much nicer than yesterday's effort. We love our lunch time with the teachers.. Lots of laughter.
P4 I ventured over to the primary end of school and helped Rik with her P2 (her youngest class) with number 1-20. They are crazy.. she is really good with them though. Lots of patience. Lots of fun, laughter and games! Then the afternoon off!
After school Pee Pho and Pok headed to Nong Kai to visit their sick brother. So It was us 2 + Film and Fang for dinner. We rode our push bike to the market and bought up a storm. A spicy vegetable mix, A bamboo and beef curry, a nilder beef curry, deef fried chicken, sweetened popcorn, these yummy burger ring things, these weird coloured panda shaped salty fatty things that tasted like crab for film, tempura banana and sweet potato, pinapple and madarines! YUM!
Dinner was early tonight without Pho and Pok so it was Rikki and my turn to lay down the mat and serve up dinner for us all. It was special. dinner was yum and tonight we were im maar ka (i am very full). After we cleaned up we played cards with the girls and joked about tua fuk yeowWWWWWW! and Fangs girl friends!
Oh and to finish of the night.. you guessed it. Another late night visit from Pee hong and the children for an english lesson. Tonight we taught them shopping and transport! they are so cute :) Note: Dont roll over when Jow wow has been sitting near you.. You will get soacked in PEE! not so nice if you have just showered.
Another amazing day in Ho Kham.
Goodnight x

Pam Svenson Prue, it sounds like you were meant to be there!!! You are doing a wonderful thing helping those less fortunate and I commend you for that. I wish I had have had the guts to pack up and leave my family to do something so rewarding for someone else. I hope the whole experience is fulfilling for you, you never know, you might even stay longer than you first expected. I'm having trouble withthe dogs balls for dinner!!!!! I will continue to read your blogs and write now and then. We miss you at curves!!!!! Good on you Prue. Pam
