Another early start today as we got up at the crack of dawn to the see the "spectacular" view at the top of the mountains. We set off at 7am, on this funny little bus with tassels on the light fittings. We stopped about an hour into the trip so the driver could get his breakfast, Sarah told him off as we had already had ours. Memories of my time as a tour leader in Turkey came flooding back to me. Ah local labour, the chaos!
We drove for about four hours and we actually saw an endangered Ethiopian wolf in the national park. We got to the summit and because of the fog, we could see nothing. It was freezing cold and we were all cursing that we had come so far to see nothing.
We drove another four hours back to the lodge, where Cate commented, that the day was like a drive day only we ended up at the same place from which we started. I had a shower under a warm trickle and stayed up for a bit with Siobhan. I then had another comfortable night sleep in the lodge before the long drive in the morning.
