Today I took Mum and Dad down to Ras Um Sed beach to go snorkeling. I got them some snorkeling gear from the place next door to the hotel and we got the hotel shuttle bus down to the beach.
We headed out to the reef, but just as we got there Mum had a panic attack and Dad and I had to take her back to shore.Dad and I had fun swimming around and exploring the reef. I didn't see anything really different to what I had seen before, except a really big green and pink parrot fish.
When I decided to go back to the beach, some of the surrounding boats decided to move, which changed the water level and beached me on the reef. I got some rather nasty scrapes on my legs and stomach, I was just lucky there was nothing that could sting underneath me.
We hiked back up the stairs and it was the hottest it had been for a while and I had a bit of a funny turn and had to sit down. I hadn't felt like that since Sudan. I got us a cab back and the driver had a bit of a hissy fit because the 20 pound note I gave him was torn, I threw it at him and said take it or leave it, you're already ripping us off. The game is, refuse the ripped 20 in the hope we only had a fifty and then not give us the change. I think Mum and Dad were surprised I stood up to him so strongly. I don't take s*** from cab drivers.
We had a bit of a rest of most of what was left of the day and got a cab down the street to Il Mercato and had Pizza Hut for lunch. Mum and I bought some really nice paintings, Mum's is two Arab men riding horses painted on velvet and mine is a desert scene painted on canvas.
We decided to go to Na'ama Bay to book a proper snorkeling trip. Once we had that sorted out for Thursday we went and sat in a pub and drank and I smoked Sheesha. I finished up the night with a bit of final shopping, I bought yet another lamp and a few more presents, and a dress that matches Awesome Shorts! We got back to the hotel quite late and went off to bed.
