After 4 months of adventuring through Africa with the Dragomaniacs, this is officially the last day of the expedition I found on the internet 18 months ago, I can't believe it's over. It's been four months of awesome experiences, new friends, fun through torment, less than frequent showering, pushing a 12 tonne truck and even the occasional suicide pact.
Today I needed to switch hotels over to the good old Ramses II, Siobhan who is staying with me for one night, also trooped down with me carrying about half of our stuff. The rooms weren't ready yet, so we had some drinks in al'american café and then went back down to catch a cab back with Cate and Breda with the rest of our stuff.
When we got back to the Canadian hostel it was time for a lot of goodbyes. I said goodbye to Yngvar first, and thanked him for being my boyfriend when the situation required it, like with good old Gabs in the Samburu. I had missed Guy, who had gone off to Dahab to climb Mt Sinai and Kat had left last night. Breda came with me while I said goodbye to Sarah and Dave, my constant tormentor. I really will miss tormenting Dave, funny we really did end up like Dave Lister and Arnold Rimmer. Who will I throw poo at now? Lol. I even wrote in Breda's journal that she was a "Smart alec metal git", which made her laugh, as Dave and I bestowed the role of Kryten on her, which I'm not totally sure she appreciated.
