Pete's Adventures
On the return to the hostel, the room next door is flooded. I help the girl in there move possesions out or onto beds. Mo turns up and we have a beer at the hostel.
We walk to Johns and sit upstairs. Drinking a few beers I watch the tennis - Djokovic vs Gasquet. We order tempura prawns as a snack, which fills us both up and is fine as a dinner. We head to the Jazz bar, on one of the moat corners and there are 2 reasons I dont stay. 1 - Its packed and 2 - It's freeform jazz, musicians kidding themselves they can play. We head round to Yellow bar. All the young backpackers flood here and we sit round the back in the courtyard. Lots of little bars tagged on all competing with their own soundsystems. The little bar we are at is called the Moon bar. Mo buys some pakora and kebab. Spicy but nice after our bar snack hours ago. Today has felt a tour between Wats and bars and we finish it with the Roots Rock Ready bar back towards the moat. A live reggae band is on which beats the noise at the Yellow bar area. We head back to my hostel and sit and have a beer. Some young girl has drunk so much tequila that an ambulance is called. They seem to advise that she goes to bed. Personally I think she should have gone in the ambulance. Mo keeps an eye on her and I chat with her friend Ben, who was out with her. Young and daft with no off switch on the tequilla. Mo gets her tuk tuk home.
