Abbie - We decided to stay here at the caravan park until we were ready to go on the tour. So we had breakfast and went to the visitor information centre, where the tour departs from. First we quickly had a look at the "Isa Experience". It had lots of history about mining and some interesting sculptures. Then our tour guide, named Bill, took us to get dressed into special mining gear. The kids got clothes, boots, belts and hard hats. Then we went and got lights for our hard hats and went down in a special lift to the underground mine. Then we walked through the mine and saw some big machines and we also went to a room called the 'cribroom'. At the cribroom, we had a few biscuits and a drink and got on a ute back into broad daylight. After we took off our gear and said goodbye to Bill, we left and went to the Mt. Isa lookout. It was a brilliant view! Then we came back to the caravan park and went to bed.
Olivia - Today we got up and had breakfast. I made breakfast for everyone. It was quite fun actually. We left for our mine tour that was at 1pm. We got dressed up and headed into the mine. We each had to wear a hard hat, a pair of gumboots and for the kids a fabric overall. We went down in an underground lift. We heard a few machines and each of the children got a go at drilling in the wall. We got to a room called the 'cribroom'. We had a drink there and left. We got out of the mine in a truck. I went up first with some people. I got to come back down and collect the other lot of people. We went to a lookout and took a few photos of the sunset. We then went back and went to bed.

Benjamin I remember Mt Isa. we dressed up into that funny gear and then on the tour we saw a machine (that nearly killed our ears it was so loud) actually working.
