Sorry about the poor effort of trying to keep our blog updated but to be honest there hasn't been much to report as we have both been working hard!!
Marie my sister joined us on the 19th December in Brisbane and we spent Christmas there. Christmas was good but it feels strange to be celebrating Christmas in the sunshine. We didn't get upto much in Brisbane as the weather wasn't the best but we did manage to visit Australia Zoo (also known as Steve Irwin Zoo) which was a very good day out and also got to visit the fake beach and markets in South Bank. After Christmas we decided to hire a car and head to Sydney for New Years, we drove to Sydney over two days.
We stopped off in Byron Bay on the way down and it was really nice but we couldn't get over how small it was. Byron was very laid back and a nice place to relax. As we were back on the road again we decided to stay in a hostel, the hostel itself was ok but there wasn't enough beds in the same room for the three of us. So Marie and i was in a 10 bed dorm and Pauric was in an 8 bed dorm. As soon as we saw where we were staying i couldn't wait to get out of there. There were people just lying on the floor and we had to step over them to get to our beds!
So the following morning we set off from Byron Bay and stopped off at Coffs Harbour again this was a nice small beach town with a lovely beach but there probably wasn't much there to do, so Pauric had a quick swim in the sea and then we had some lunch before we headed off again.
Our next stop was a place called Port MacQuarie, we all really liked Port MacQuarie. The beach here was amazing and the waves here were crazy, as soon as you enter the water the waves floor you! So after our night in the hostel we decided this time to stay in a motel to treat ourselves. It was a shame we couldn't stay here for longer however we have booked to go on a Sea Plane on the way back from Sydney, so we are both looking forward to that.
So after a night here we decided to get back on the road and head for Sydney. When we first drove into Sydney we couldn't believe how nice the City is, the bridge and the Opera House are very impressive.
We are staying in a lodge in Randwick, Randwick is very nice and it's only down the road from Coogee Beach. We are also quite close to Bondi, however i must say i think we prefer Coogee.
So our firsts impressions of Sydney were really good, i can't believe how big it is. We haven't got upto much, we did visit the bridge and the Opera House but because we are coming back to Sydney when we do the East Coast we haven't done too much except laze on the beach and meet up with some of Pauric 's friends. We spent New Years Eve at a place called Watson Bay, we had a good view of the city and the fireworks were brilliant, the night itself was really good.
The day after New Years Day we decided to go on a trip so we got the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. Manly was really nice and relaxed it wasn't as hectic as Sydney. The beach was lovely and not too over crowded. We visited Ocean World and you could actually walk through glass tunnels and be face to face with the shark's, the place itself was interesting but i must admit at times i was worried the glass was going to break.
That's about it for now, Marie is heading back to England in a few days and were heading back to Brisbane for a few more weeks and then were heading up to Cairns and hoping to hire out a camper van and head down the East Coast all the way to Melbourne, so we will keep you updated on our travels.
