Hi all

So we arrived in Brisbane at the end of August. We booked ourselves into Hostel in the city called Cloud Nine and met up with some of Pauric's friends, Glen and Dean. We literally dropped our bags in the room and we were out again. The first night was a bit of a blur but our first impressions of Brisbane were really good!! In fact quite a lot of our nights in Brisbane were like that!

We stayed in Cloud Nine for a couple more nights. We decided that Brisbane was going to be the place where we settled for a while and found some work. We found an apartment almost straight away, we moved in with Dean and it was in the city which was a bonus. The apartment itself is very nice, with a swimming pool and gym and it seemed just too good to be true. So no more hostels now, well at least not for a little while!!

We both found work almost straight away. Pauric managed to get some construction work in Groundworks which was very handy and i somehow ended up in a call centre for the Queensland Government taking calls regarding the Water Restictions. So most of my days now are taken up by angry callers complaining about their outdoor water ban and thats only when they can understand my brummy accent!

But we both still love it. Even though we are working we still get to appreciate the good weather and were also not far from the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast!

We did visit Surfers Paradise last weekend which is on the Gold Coast which was really good. We spent the day on the beach topping up our tans whilst watching a surfing competition! Its only an hour from Brisbane.

The weather here is also just starting to pick up, apparently it can hit anything upto 40 degrees at Christmas so im not looking forward to that!
