Day 104. This morning we headed south from Tanunda in the Barossa Valley through Lyndoch, past the vast vineyards of Jacobs Creek, Kellermeister and Grant Burge, the rolling hills are so pretty and green. We passed through tiny villages of Williamstown and Mt Pleasant and then suddenly we were dropping from the rocky green forested hills onto the flat plain of the Murray River. We passed over the river at Murray Bridge, a bustling river town and then onto Tailem Bend where the river takes a mighty bend. We followed the Dukes Highway further south into the Limestone Coast Region, the country becoming a little drier, we reached the small grain town of Keith where we stopped for lunch in the park. A large blimp had been following the highway above us for hours, so strange! Continuing further south we passed through the vast vineyards of Padthaway onto the pretty farming town of Naracoorte where we checked into the grassy Big 4 CP on the edge of town around mid afternoon. A drive around the town revealed many heritage buildings and pubs and some absolutely gorgeous old stone houses and churches. Dinner tonight home cooked chicken and pumpkin soup with sourdough bread. Yummy! Drove 350km, fine sunny day 22 degrees.
