Day 22. After breakfast, a visit to the Bowali Visitor Centre outside Jabiru to view cultural and environmental exhibits on Kakadu and to watch an interesting movie. After lunch we all piled into the Prado for our next Kakadu adventure to Nourlangie Region. Walked around a picturesque billabong called Anbangbang full of water birds and with a spectacular view to Nourlangie escarpment with its sheer sandstone cliffs. Very hot today 33 degrees so we're all feeling the heat stress. Walked into some of the ancient rock art shelters at Anbangbang Gallery but too hot to complete. But the highlight of our day came later when we boarded the Yellow Water Sunset Cruise into the wetlands that are part of the vast South Aligator River floodplain. So much bird life from sea eagles, egrets, magpie geese, white heron, jabiru, whistler duck, kingfisher, etc. Several large crocodiles sunning and swimming about the billabong. Sunset was brilliant with so many reflections on the water. Cooinda Bistro too busy for us so quickly drove 50km in the dark back to Jabiru for drinks and meals around the pool. What a great and diversified country we live in!
