Day 16. Breakfast in the van of pancakes with maple syrup cooked by my lovely wife Raechel. Yummy! After some domestic chores we drove into busy Alice Springs town centre for some shopping and sightseeing. Lunch and a walk through the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens. Day 14. We have really settled into this touring life now! Slept in today and poached eggs for our Sunday breakfast. Lucky to see the Ghan arriving at the train station, hopped on board for a quick look. Visit to the Desert Dwellers, a fantastic big camping/caravan store and Bunnings to buy parts to fix one of our pop-top latches which has been troubling us for a couple of days. Day 13. Early start from Kings Canyon back down the Red Centre Way to the Stuart Highway for the big trip up to the Alice, traditional home of the Arrernte people. Stopped for fuel and lunch at Stuarts Well Roadhouse, then crossed the wide dry Finke River arriving into the Big 4 at Alice Springs mid afternoon.
